Summary: We obtain a unique common triple fixed point theorem for hybrid pair of mappings in metric spaces. Our result extends the recent results of \textit{B. Samet} and \textit{C. Vetro} [Nonlinear Anal., Theory Methods Appl., Ser. A, Theory Methods 74, No. 12, 4260--4268 (2011; Zbl 1216.54021)]. We also introduced a suitable example supporting our result.
