There exist dynamical systems consisting of perturbations superimposed on solvable (in the sense of E. T. Whitthaker) problems. Most solvable problems require elliptic functions. For qualitative solutions of such dynamical systems, this paper proposes an approximation of the unperturbed solution by a Fourier series expansion of the amplitude. It also provides an efficient way for determining its coefficients.
