Let \(G\) be a semisimple Lie group, \(X=G/K\) a Riemannian symmetric space, and \(Y=G/H\) the corresponding non-compactly causal symmetric space. The main result of this paper is the construction of a correspondence between the eigenfunctions on \(X\) and the eigenfunctions on \(Y\), and further to relate a spherical function \(\phi_\lambda\) on \(X\) to a holomorphic \(H\)-invariant distribution on \(Y\) via analytic continuation. This result is applied to give a spectral definition of the Hardy space corresponding to the \(H\)-invariant distribution vectors of a spherical principal series representation of \(G\), thus achieving a geometric realization of a multiplicity free space of the most-continuous spectrum \(L^2(Y)_mc\) in the space of holomorphic functions.
