In the interesting paper under review, the authors introduce the \(p\)-Laplace operator \(\Delta_{p,\mu}\) with respect to a positive and finite Borel measures \(\mu\), supported on an open and bounded set \(\Omega\subset \mathbb R^n\), \(n\geq 2\), and satisfying the Adams-type embedding condition \[ \|\varphi\|_{L^q(\Omega,\mu)}\leq C(n,p,q,\Omega)\|\nabla\varphi\|_{L^p(\Omega)}\quad \text{for all }\varphi\in C^\infty_0(\Omega),\quad 1<p\leq n,\;p<q\leq {{np}\over {n-p}}. \] The eigenvalue problem is studied for the operator \(\Delta_{p,\mu}\), proving in particular positivity of eigenvalues, existence of the first eigenfunction and simplicity of the first eigenvalue. Moreover, interior Hölder continuity of the eigenfunctions is derived in the case \(p < n\), while a counterexample to continuity is given when \(p = n\).
