Univariate splines and operators for the purpose of approximation using them as created by Schoenberg are among the most important techniques to approximate continuous functions. Usually the first approach is to use equally spaced knots for the splines when the approximation is used and suitable approximation error estimates are available. In this work, these estimates are improved by using Chebyshev knots in place of univariate equally spaced points, and it is shown that these improve the approximation quality. The new upper bounds using moduli of continuity are proved to be best possible for the given continuous approximands.
