The Terwilliger algebras of certain association schemes over the Galois rings of characteristic 4 (Q1911239): Difference between revisions

In a cyclotomic scheme over a finite field there are some relations between the irreducible modules of the Terwilliger algebra and the Jacobi sums over the field, which lead to the classification of the irreducible modules of the Terwilliger algebra in the case of class 2 [cf. the author, \textit{T. Ito} and \textit{A. Munemasa}, The Terwilliger algebras of cyclotomic schemes and the rationality of Jacobi sums, Algebraic combinatorics, 43-44 (1993)]. In the paper under review the author considers the Terwilliger algebra of a cyclotomic scheme over a commutative local ring which is called a Galois ring of characteristic 4, and finds similar relations between the irreducible modules of the Terwilliger algebra and the Jacobi sums over the local ring. In the case that the cyclotomic scheme has class three all the irreducible modules of the Terwilliger algebra are determined using the Jacobi sums.
