The authors study the fractal dimension of the set \(R\) of visited sites (range) for a particular type of continuous time (nearest-neighbour) random conductance model on \({\mathbb Z}^{d}\), the variable speed random walk (VSRW), and for a so-called VSRW associated to the Bouchaud's trap model (BTM) [\textit{J.-P. Bouchaud}, ``Weak ergodicity breaking and aging in disordered systems'', J. Phys. I (France) 2, 1705--1713 (1992)]). Let \(\Omega\) be the set of configurations of conductances (VSRW) or trap's depths (VSRW-BTM) \(\mu_e\), \(e\in E_d\), where \(e\) denotes resp. a bond or a site and \(E_d\) is the set of all bonds or sites, and, in both cases, let \(\mathbb P\) be the probability measure on \(\Omega\) and \(X=\{X_t, t\geq 0\}\) the corresponding VSRW. When \(d\geq 3\) and the random medium is such that \(\operatorname{P} (\mu_e \geq 1 , e\in E_d)=1\), they find that for \(\mathbb P\)-a.e. \(\omega\in \Omega\), a.s. with respect to \(P^{\omega}_0\) (the quenched law of \(X\) starting from \(X_0=0\)) the discrete Hausdorff dimension \(d_H\) of the range equals its packing dimension \(d_P\) (defined in [\textit{M. T. Barlow} and \textit{S. J. Taylor}, Proc. Lond. Math. Soc., III. Ser. 64, No. 1, 125--152 (1992; Zbl 0753.28006)]) and \(d_H(R)=d_P(R)=2\). Moreover, for any infinite set \(A \subset {\mathbb Z}^{d}\), \({\mathbb P}\)-a.e. with respect to \(\omega\in \Omega\), \(P^{\omega}_0(X_t\in A \quad \mathrm{for}\quad \mathrm{arbitrarily} \quad\mathrm{large}\quad t>0)=0\) when \(d_H(A)< d-2\) and \(P^{\omega}_0(X_t\in A \quad \mathrm{for}\quad \mathrm{arbitrarily} \quad\mathrm{large}\quad t>0)=1\) when \(d_H(A)> d-2\). The proofs follow the lines of the papers of Barlow and Taylor [loc. cit.], \textit{M. T. Barlow} and \textit{J. D. Deuschel} [Ann. Probab. 38, No. 1, 234--276 (2010; Zbl 1189.60187)], and \textit{M. T. Barlow} and \textit{J. Černý} [Probab. Theory Relat. Fields 149, No. 3--4, 639--673 (2011; Zbl 1227.60112); erratum ibid. 149, No. 3--4, 675--677 (2011; Zbl 1238.60114)], with some explicit estimates in addition. Some caution is advised in reading, since misprints and inaccuracies are present in the paper (e.g. Formula (1.1), where generators have the wrong sign) and many steps in the proofs are only sketched (e.g. M.T. Barlow and J. Černý [Zbl 1227.60112, loc. cit.], to which many assertions refer throughout the paper, in particular, the proof of Theorem 3, has an erratum [Zbl 1238.60114, loc cit. ], which is not listed in the references).
