Die Summe \(\sum _{\alpha = 1}^{n} X^2_\alpha \) läßt sich in das Produkt \[ \left ( \sum _{i=1}^{n-1} X_i e^i + X_n e^n \right ) \left ( - \sum _{i=1}^{n-1} X_i e^i + X_n e^n \right ) \] zerlegen, wenn \(e^{\alpha }\) eine Gruppe von \(n\) hyperkomplexen Einheiten bilden, deren Produkte leicht erkennbare Relationen erfüllen. Anwendung auf quadratische Differentialformen.
