In this article the author considers the Cauchy problem for the Hammer model of radiative incompressible flows in one dimension given by the equations \[ u_t+uu_x+q_x=0, \] \[ -q_{xx}+q+u_x=0, \] with initial condition \[ \left. u\right|_{t=0}=u_0, \] where \(u\) is the velocity and \(q\) the heat flux. It is known that this system admits a smooth global solution provided that \(u_0\) is small enough. When \(u_0\in H^s({\mathbb R})\cap L^1({\mathbb R})\) for \(s\geq 5\) small enough, the author gives an explicit formula for the leading term of the large-time asymptotic expansion of the velocity \(u(x,t)\) .
