Let \(E^2_1\) be the 2-dimensional pseudo-Euclidean space of index 1 and denote by \(\mathrm{Sim}_L(E^2_1)\) and \(\mathrm{Sim}_L^+(E^2_1)\) the groups of linear pseudo-similarities and of orientation-preserving linear pseudo-similarities of \(E^2 _1\), respectively. In this paper, by means of the \(\mathbb{R}\)-algebra \(\mathbb{H}\) of hyperbolic numbers, two new groups, \(\mathrm{Sim}_{\mathrm{GL}}(E^2_1)\) and \(\mathrm{Sim}_{\mathrm{GL}}^+(E^2_1)\) of generalized linear pseudo-similarities and of orientation-preserving generalized linear pseudo-similarities, are introduced. Let us now denote by \(G\) any of the four groups above. The authors investigate the differential geometry of non-null plane paths and non-null plane curves under the transformations of \(G\). They find \(G\)-invariant functions of paths and obtain the conditions of similarity of two paths in \(E^2_1\) with respect to \(G\), also presenting a way to detect \(G\)-similarities of paths and curves. Furthermore, as the authors also say in the abstract, they provide an evident form of a path and a curve from their global differential \(G\)-invariants. Finally, given two paths or curves with the common \(G\)-invariants, they obtain all evident forms of linear pseudo-similarity transformations carrying the paths and the curves.
