\textit{R. S. Hamilton} [J. Differ. Geom. 17, 255--306 (1982; Zbl 0504.53034)] introduced the idea of Hamilton's Ricci flow for a smooth manifold \(M\) with a family \(g(t)\) of Riemannian metrics: \newline \[\frac{\partial}{\partial t}g(t)=-2\text{Ric}(t),\] where \(\text{Ric}(t)\) is the Ricci tensor of the metric \(g(t)\). Self-similar solutions to Hamilton's Ricci flow are called the Ricci solitons. \textit{B. Chow} et al. [Hamilton's Ricci flow. Providence, RI: American Mathematical Society (AMS) (2006; Zbl 1118.53001)] showed that the evolution of the Ricci tensor under the flow given above can be written as \newline \[\frac{\partial}{\partial t}\text{Ric}(t)=\Delta^{S}_{g(t)} \text{Ric}(t),\] where \(\Delta^{S}_{g(t)}\) is the Sampson Laplacian. In this paper, using the concept of a stochastic complete metric, the authors provide the conditions when a Ricci soliton is Einstein or trivial. Also, they have an interesting result depending on the type of Ricci solitons; steady, expanding and shrinking.
