Composite materials are present in many industrial applications, so it is of interest to model the inherent defects. A usual way to tackle the problem is to introduce interface cracks. This paper deals with the interaction of a periodic layer with interface cracks. The transfer matrix and Fourier techniques are uses to formulate the corresponding boundary value problem for the in-plane wave case. The pecularity of this wave interaction lies in the production of Love waves which give dips and peaks in the transfer function.
