This very theoretical paper establishes the concept of a ``multispace'' that forms a geometrical foundation for the numerical analysis of differential equations. This formalism allows the direct application of the method of moving frames to the systematic construction of invariant numerical approximations to invariant differential equations, covering such areas as symplectic integrators, energy conserving methods with applications to computer vision and symmetry-based object recognition.
