The authors are concerned with the analysis of pressure-robust and semi-robust velocity error analysis in \(H(\mathrm{div})\)-conforming DG method for the time dependent incompressible Navier-Stokes equations. They introduce \(H(\mathrm{div})\)-conforming and inf-sup stable FEM for the time-dependent incompressible Navier-Stokes problem and prove the optimal convergence rate of the velocity error by means of the Stokes projection. For small values of viscosity, the authors show that the velocity error tends to the optimal convergence rate with mesh refinements. From some numerical experiments carried out, it results that this convergence is better than the quasi-optimal convergence rate as it is predicted theoretically. It is surprising that this analysis does not present some illustrations to convince us that such a method could be able to capture turbulent characteristics of some flows.
