    The ``local'' structure of a certain minimal parabolic system which occurs, for example, in the Monster simple group is investigated. More precisely, let \(G=\langle P_1,P_2,P_3,P_4,P_5\rangle\) such that \(P_i/O_2(P_i) \cong S_3\) for all \(i\), \(\langle P_i,P_{i+1}\rangle/O_2(\langle P_i,P_{i+1}\rangle) \cong L_3(2)\) for \(i=1,2,3\), \(\langle P_4, P_5\rangle/O_2(\langle P_4,P_5\rangle) \cong 3^\cdot S_6\), \(\langle P_i,P_j\rangle/O_2(\langle P_i,P_j\rangle) \cong S_3\times S_3\) for all other \(i,j\), and \(S=P_1\cap P_2\cap P_3\cap P_4\cap P_5\in\text{Syl}_2(\langle P_i,P_j\rangle)\) for all \(i,j\). Under the assumptions that \(|S/\text{core}_{\langle P_3,P_4,P_5\rangle}S|\neq 2^9\) and \(2^{10}\neq|S/\text{core}_{\langle P_2,P_3,P_4,P_5\rangle}S|\neq 2^{25}\) it is shown that \(|S/\text{core}_GS|=2^{46}\). Furthermore, a chief series for \(\langle P_4,P_5\rangle\) on \(O_2(\langle P_4,P_5\rangle)/\text{core}_GS\) and a lot of other detailed information about the local structure of \(G\) are determined. The results show that the situation resembles closely that of the minimal parabolic system which is related to the tilde geometry of the Monster. Besides, some results on a bit more general parabolic systems are also proved.
