The existence and non-existence of nontrivial solutions to a semilinear elliptic problem on an unbounded domain \(\Omega\) are studied. The set \(\Omega\) is assumed to be contained in a strip with a finite width. The arguments are variational involving the Mountain Pass Theorem.
