The Cauchy problem to the equation \(\psi _{tt}-\Delta \psi =| \psi | ^{p-1}\psi \) in \((0,+\infty )\times \mathbb{R}^3\) with radial data is considered for a subcritical exponent \(p\), \(1<p\leq 3\). The equation admits the fundamental self-similar solution \[ \psi ^{T}(t,x)=\left(\frac{2(p+1)}{(p-1)^2}\right)^{\frac{1}{p-1}}(T-t)^{-\frac{2}{p-1}}. \] The authors prove that to every radial initial data close to \(\psi ^1(0)\) in the energy topology there exists \(T>0\) such that the above problem has a unique radial solution, which blowing up is of similar type as \(\psi ^{T}\).
