This paper studies a variant of the multilayer Saint-Venant system that is an approximation of the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations for shallow water flow with free moving boundary. A discrete version of the model using finite volume framework is presented. Numerical results and comparisons between the monolayer Saint-Venant and Navier-Stokes systems validate the model.
