The square-integrable representations modulo cuspidal data for a classical \(p\)-adic group are classified in terms of certain triples of invariants. These triples were defined by \textit{C. Moeglin} in [J. Eur. Math. Soc. (JEMS) 4, No.~2, 143--200 (2002; Zbl 1002.22009)] rather simply in terms of induced representations in all cases excepting one. In that case, she used more subtle methods involving normalized standard intertwining operators obtained through analytic continuation etc. In the paper under review, the author starts from an observation due to J.-L. Waldspurger on Moeglin's method, to define the triple of invariants in this exceptional case also in simpler terms using induced representations. As usual, the author's exposition is lucid.
