In the representation theory of \(p\)-adic classical groups, the case \(p=2\) often requires extra care and new techniques. This is especially the case for Weil's metaplectic group \(\widetilde{\mathrm{Sp}}(2n)\). In the paper under review, the author establishes an isomorphism between the Iwahori-Hecke algebra of the split \(\mathrm{SO}_{2n+1}(\mathbb{Q}_2)\) and the Hecke algebra \(\mathcal{H} = \mathcal{H}(G /\!/J, \chi)\) for a certain type of \(\widetilde{\mathrm{Sp}}_{2n}(\mathbb{Q}_2)\), which is constructed using the all-important Weil representation; here \(J\) stands for an explicit subgroup of the Iwahori subgroup \(I\). Using this isomorphism of Hecke algebras, it is shown that the Plancherel measures on the appropriate Bernstein components match, for suitably (but non-trivially) normalized Haar measures. This extends the earlier results in [\textit{W. T. Gan} and \textit{G. Savin}, Represent. Theory 16, 513--539 (2012)] for \(p > 2\), and [\textit{H. Y. Loke} and \textit{G. Savin}, Pac. J. Math. 247, No. 2, 435--454 (2010; Zbl 1259.11053)] for \(n=2\), \(p=2\). These new phenomena in the dyadic case deserve further attention.
