The authors get one positive and infinitely many radially symmetric solutions for a class of nonautonomous nonlinear scalar field equations in \(\mathbb{R}^ 2\). They use the Mountain Pass Lemma and the known method to approximate equations with strong nonlinear terms. Then the Pohozaev identity is used to get a uniform estimate for the approximate solutions. A short discussion on previous results in this direction is also presented.
