The author considers a cell-centered finite volume discretization for an elliptic equation. Using a suitable correction for the classical finite volume scheme, a new nonlinear scheme is introduced. It is shown that this new scheme has at least one solution, verifying a maximum principle, and avoids the known oscillations for the classical finite volume schemes.
