The authors study the linearization problem for the product of two little \(q\)-Laguerre polynomials \((l_n(x,a| q)_n)_{n=0}^\infty\), with \(q\in(0,1)\), \(a\in(0,1/q)\). They proved that the linearization coefficients \(g_k\) of the expansion \[ l_n(x,a| q)_n l_m(x,a| q)_n=\sum_{k=0}^{n+m} g_k(n,m,k) l_n(x,a| q)_k, \] are nonnegative when \[ \frac{4a}{(1-q^2)[+aq(2-q)^2]}\leq 1. \] From this result they proved that the sequence \((l_n(x,a| q)_n)_{n=0}^\infty\) is a Faber basis of the space \(C(S_q)\) of continuous functions on the set \(S_q=\{q^n\}_{n=0}^\infty \cup 0\).
