The authors consider the construction of an exponentially fitted difference scheme on a uniform mesh for the effective approximation of solutions of a singularly perturbed Volterra integro-differential equation. After preliminaries, including the asymptotic estimation of the solution, the authors present their proposed scheme, analyse its convergence and stability, and provide uniform error estimates. The paper concludes with some numerical results.
