Denote by the \({\mathbb{N}}\)-triple (n,m,l) the triangle group \(<x,y\); \(x^ n=y^ m=(xy)^{l}=1>\). For a given field K, \(A,B\in G=SL(2,K)\) determine a G-triple (A,B,C) with \(ABC=1\). An \({\mathbb{N}}\)-triple (n,m,l) is exceptional if for some finite field K there exists a G-triple (A,B,C) such that \((n,m,l)=(ord(A),ord(B),ord(C))\) and, \(modulo(\pm I)\), A, B, C generate a group isomorphic to a dihedral group, \({\mathbb{A}}_ 4\), \({\mathbb{S}}_ 4\) or \({\mathbb{A}}_ 5\). In Part I [\textit{U. Langer} and \textit{G. Rosenberger}, Result. Math. 15, 119-148 (1989; Zbl 0679.20041)] the fields K and non-exceptional \({\mathbb{N}}\)-triples (n,m,l) for which the triangle group (n,m,l) has PSL(2,K) or PGL(2,K) as factor group with torsion-free kernel were completely characterized. In the present paper the corresponding characterizations are given for the exceptional \({\mathbb{N}}\)-triples (3,4,4), (2,5,5), (3,3,5), (3,5,5) and (5,5,5).
