In the present paper the authors prove the existence of a ''triple universal entire function'' u having the following properties. For any entire function f there are sequences \(\{m_ k\}\), \(\{n_ k\}\), \(\{p_ k\}\) of natural numbers such that (1) the sequence of derivatives \(\{u^{(m_ k)}(z)\}\) converges to f(z) compactly on \({\mathbb{C}}\); (2) the sequence of translates \(\{u(z-n_ k)\}\) converges to f(z) compactly on \({\mathbb{C}}\); (3) a sequence \(\{u^{(-p_ k)}(z)\}\) of \(p_ k\)-fold antiderivatives converges to f(z) compactly on \({\mathbb{C}}\). (A sequence converges compactly on \({\mathbb{C}}\) if and only if it converges uniformly on all compact sets.) The proof of this result is a straightforward and nice application of Runge's approximation theorem.
