Let \(S = \{f_n\}\) be a sequence of meromorphic functions on the plane domain \(D\). A point \(z_0\in D\) is called a regular point of \(S\) if the sequence \(S\) converges uniformly with respect to the spherical metric in a neighbourhood of \(z_0\), otherwise it is irregular. An irregular point is reducible if \(S\) has a subsequence \(S^{\prime}\) for which \(z_0\) is regular, otherwise it is irreducible. The sequence \(S\) is called completely irreducible in \(D\) if every irregular point of \(S\) is irreducible. It is shown that every sequence of meromorphic function has a completely irreducible subsequence. The structure of the set of irregular points of an irreducible sequence is described.
