The Fatou-Julia decomposition is important in the study of complex dynamical systems. This tool is also interesting in the framework of transversally holomorphic foliations: \textit{É. Ghys, X. Gómez-Mont} and \textit{J. Saludes} have given a Fatou-Julia decomposition of such kind of foliations in [Monogr. Enseign. Math. 38, 287--319 (2001; Zbl 1013.37043)]. The author proposes a different notion of Fatou-Julia component, to give another Fatou-Julia decomposition of transversally holomorphic foliations defined in terms of normal families. The new Fatou sets contain the Fatou sets in the sense of É. Ghys, X. Gómez-Mont and J. Saludes. The author studies the properties of these sets and gives an application to the study of transversal Kobayashi metrics.
