The author proves by elementary arguments, that \(28= 3^3+ 1^3\) is the only even perfect number that is a sum of 2 cubes \(x^3\), \(a^3\) with \(x> 0\), \(a\geq 0\). The special case \(a=1\) was proved by \textit{A. Makowski} [Elem. Math. 17, 109 (1962; Zbl 0105.26402)].
