Consider a compact manifold \(X\) with a generalized Kähler structure that admits a pure spinor. The main theorem says that if the generalized complex structure admits a deformation parametrized by a \(1\)-dimensional disk, then up to shrinking the disk these generalized complex structures are also generalized Kähler with a pure spinor. This is analogous to the Kodaira-Spencer stability theorem for Kähler structures. The theorem is then applied to construct nontrivial generalized Kähler structures on Fano surfaces and toric Kähler manifolds.
