Non-horizontal submanifolds and coarea formula (Q1001387): Difference between revisions

The aim of the paper is to prove an area-type formula for non-horizontal submanifolds in stratified groups (see \textit{L. Capogna} and \textit{N. Garofalo} [J. Geom. Anal. 16, No.~3, 455--497 (2006; Zbl 1103.58017)]; \textit{D. Danielli, N. Garofalo} and \textit{D. M. Nhieu} [Adv. Math. 215, No.~1, 292--378 (2007; Zbl 1129.53017)]), emphasizing its connection with the corresponding sub-Riemannian coarea formula for vector valued mappings (see also \textit{V. Magnani} and \textit{D. Vittone} [J. Reine Angew. Math. 619, 203--232 (2008; Zbl 1146.53022)]; \textit{P. Mattila} [Math. Scand. 97, No.~2, 298--308 (2005; Zbl 1093.28002)]).
