A bounded lattice \(L\) is a \textit{quasifractal} if for all \(a_{1}<b_{1}\) and \(a_{2}<b_{2}\) there is a lattice embedding \(\phi :[a_{1},b_{1}]\to [ a_{2},b_{2}]\) such that \(\phi (a_{1})=a_{2}\) and \(\phi (b_{1})=b_{2}\). If \(\phi \) can always be chosen to be an isomorphism, \(L\) is called a \textit{fractal} lattice. If \({\mathcal V}(R)\) denotes, for a ring with identity \(R\), the variety generated by the submodule lattices of \(R\)-modules, the main result of the paper is the following theorem: Let \({\mathcal U}\) be a nondistributive modular lattice variety generated by a quasifractal. Then {\parindent=7mm \begin{itemize}\item[(i)] there exists a unique \(p=p({\mathcal U})\), \(p\) a prime number or zero, such that \({\mathcal V}(F_{p})\subseteq{\mathcal U}\); \item[(ii)] for any \(n\geq 3\) and any nontrivial \(n\)-frame \((\overrightarrow{a}, \overrightarrow{c})\) of an arbitrary lattice in \({\mathcal U}\), \(\text{char} (\overrightarrow{a},\overrightarrow{c})=p({\mathcal U})\); \item[(iii)] \({\mathcal U}\) is Arguesian. \end{itemize}}
