Riemann surfaces with orbifold points (Q1048458): Difference between revisions

In this paper, the authors reinterpret the well-known and long-studied theory of Teichmüller with marked points on boundary components as the Teichmüller theory of Riemann surfaces with orbifold points of order 2. They describe necessary and sufficient conditions for the group generated by the Fuchsian group of the surface with extra inversion elements to be of almost hyperbolic Fuchsian type. General methods of the theory of Fuchsian groups, Riemann surfaces, and Teichmüller theory are used. The results are stated clearly and the paper is easily readible by anyone with a medium knowledge of these notions.
