The authors present an iterative method (Picard type iteration) to solve a boundary value problem, which arises in the steady incompressible flow of a power-law fluid over a semi-infinite flat plate. Convergence of the method is also proved for dilatant fluids. However the technique works well for pseudoplastic fluids also. The technique accurately gives an important parameter which is related to the drag at the plate.
