The mathematical description of complicated surfaces sometimes requires the inclusion of patches with pentagonal shape. These are tedious to describe by conventional methods, and therefore the authors develop a method that is tailored just for this special case. The patch is of the Coons type, with five arbitrary boundary curves to be prescribed. A \(C^ 0\) and a \(C^ 1\) version are presented, both making use of convex combinations. An example is given showing how to integrate a pentagonal patch into a network of bicubic patches.
