The author determines the general continuous solutions T, U: [0,1]\({}^ 2\to [0,1]\), N: [0,1]\(\to [0,1]\) of \(U(T(x,y),T[x,N(y)])=x\) (x,y\(\in [0,1])\), where T is a ''t-norm'' (symmetric, nondecreasing in each variable, associative i.e. \(T(T(a,b),c)=T(a,T(b,c)),\) and \(T(a,1)=a\), U is a ''t-conorm'' (that is, (x,y)\(\mapsto 1-U(1-x,1-y)\) is a t-norm) and N is a ''strong negation'' (strictly decreasing, involution i.e. \(N(N(x))=x\), and \(N(0)=1\), \(N(1)=0)\).
