In a paper by \textit{A. Bove}, \textit{J. E. Lewis} and the first author [Math. Ann. 273, 553-571 (1986; Zbl 0567.35057)] a class of Fuchsian hyperbolic operators has been considered and a general result was given concerning the structure of distribution solutions defined in a full neighborhood of a point of the characteristic hypersurface \(t=0\). The operators treated (loc. cit.) are strictly hyperbolic for \(t\neq 0.\) Our aim is to consider the more general case where the operators are strictly hyperbolic only for \(t>0\). For some results in ths direction, see \textit{E. Bernardi} (to appear).
