Let \(\{f_n\}\), \(\{g_n\}\), \(\{h_n\}\) be positive sequences with partial sums \(F_n\), \(G_n\), \(H_n\), respectively. Define \[ Y_n= \Biggl({1\over F_{n-1}H_n}\Biggr) \sum^n_{v= 1} F_{v-1} x_v\xi_v,\quad\text{where }F_n:= \sum^n_{v= 1} f_n\to\infty,\quad X_n:= {1\over G_n} \sum^n_{v=1} g_vx_v. \] Suppose that \[ F_n\Delta g^{-1}_n= O(f_n g^{-1}_n),\quad \sum^\infty_{n=v+ 1} {1\over F_{n-1} H^k_n}= O\Biggl({1\over f_v H^k_v}\Biggr), \] and \[ \sum^\infty_{n= 1} \Biggl|\Delta\Biggr| {1\over F_{n-1}} \sum^{n-1}_{v= 1} {F_vG_v\over g_{v+1} H_v} \Delta\varepsilon_v \Biggl|^k\Biggr|< \infty. \] The author then shows that \(\varepsilon_n= O\left\{{g_n H_n\over G_n}\right\}\) and \(\Delta\varepsilon_n= O\left\{{g_{n+1} H_nf_n\over G_nF_n}\right\}\) are necessary and sufficient conditions for \(\sum| X_n|^k<\infty\) to imply \(\sum| Y_n|^k<\infty\), \(k\geq 1\). As applications of this result, he obtains necessary and sufficient conditions for \(\sum a_n\varepsilon_n\) to be summable \(| A|_k\) whenever \(\sum a_n\) is summable \(| B|_k\) for \(A\) Nörlund, \(B\) weighted mean, or both weighted mean matrices.
