Let \(R\) be a commutative ring. The content ideal \(c(f)\) of a polynomial \(f\in R[X]\) is the ideal of \(R\) generated by the coefficients of \(f\). A polynomial \(f\in R[X]\) is said to be Gaussian over \(R\), if for every polynomial \(g\in R[X]\) we have \(c(fg)=c(f)c(g)\). In the paper under review, the authors prove that every nonzero Gaussian polynomial \(f\in R[X]\) has invertible (resp. principal) content ideal, provided \(R\) is a Noetherian integrally closed domain (resp. \(R\) is a quasi-local integrally closed domain with residue field of characteristic \(p>0)\).
