The problem of recovering a control for a system of parabolic type with memory is studied. A finite-step algorithm, based on the discrepancy method, is develoed to solve this problem. However, it is shown that the algorithm is resistant to informational noise and computational errors. The present work generalizes the work of \textit{V. I. Maksimov} [Lect. Notes Control Inf. Sci. 180, 404-413 (1992; Zbl 0829.93033)].
