For a new kinetic multilane model for vehicular traffic (Klar/Wegener 1999) theoretical results for the space homogeneous kinetic equation are presented. An investigation of this equation leads to a boundary value problem for an ordinary differential equation. In some special case (\(k = 1\)) the existence of stationary solutions is proved by applying the Schauder theorem. In the final section some numerical results are presented.
