The paper presents some modifications and extensions of Fuller's theorem on the existence of periodic points of homeomorphisms. In the first part of the paper a theorem on coincidence points of iterates of two self-maps on an oriented closed manifold is presented. Several corollaries are given, for example, it follows that if \(f\) and \(g\) are two isometries on an even-dimensional sphere then there exists an \(x\) such that \(f(x) = g(x)\) of \(f^ 2(x) = g^ 2(x)\). In the next part of the paper results on the existence of periodic points of equivariant maps are established. Finally some theorems on common periodic points of isometries are given. In particular, it is proved that if \(f_ 1, \dots, f_ r\) are commuting isometries on a closed Riemannian manifold with nonzero Euler characteristic then there exist an integer \(l \geq 1\) and a point \(x\) such that \(f^ l_ i (x) = x\) for every \(i = 1,\dots, r\).
