The authors present a PDF-based Monte Carlo particle method for compressible turbulence flows which is unique in that the mean pressure gradient can be obtained directly from the particles using a grid-free approach together with the kernel estimation technique of smoothed particle hydrodynamics. The authors describe the implementation of periodic and characteristic-based inflow/outflow boundary conditions and show that solutions obtained are in good agreement with existing ones. Additionally, an extension of the method is proposed.
