The author studies theoretically the problem of radiation through a binary fluid mixture under gravity. The basic state is endowed with uniform temperature and concentration gradients in the stratification. The radiators employed are fluid, heat and solute-injecting sources together with an applied force. This problem is significant in environmental modelling of thermoconvective radiation through gravitating water subjected to oscillating solar heating. The paper, though clearly written, is quite mathematical in nature. It is a pity that numerical results are not given in this work.
