A subset \(A\) of a topological space \(X\) is called preopen if \(A\subseteq \text{int}(\text{cl}A)\), and a subset whose complement is preopen is called preclosed. One calls the preclosure of a subset \(A\) of a space the intersection of all preclosed subsets containing \(A\). A space \(X\) is called \(p\)-closed provided that every cover of \(X\) by preopen sets has a finite subfamily whose preclosures cover \(X\). \(X\) is called \(QHC\) provided that every open cover of \(X\) has a finite subfamily whose closures cover \(X\). Finally, a space \(X\) is called strongly compact if every cover of \(X\) by preopen sets has a finite subcover. Evidently every strongly compact space is \(p\)-closed, and every \(p\)-closed space is \(QHC\). In this article the authors continue the study of \(p\)-closed spaces. They obtain some new characterizations of the class of \(p\)-closed spaces and present results concerning its relationships with other classes of topological spaces.
