This paper is concerned with the structure of the closed ideals in Beurling algebras. Let \(\omega\) be a positive weight on \(\mathbb{Z}\) satisfying \(\omega(n+m)\leq \omega(n)\omega(m)\), \(\lim_{| n|\to\infty}\omega(n)^{1/n}= 1\) and \(\sum_{n< 0}{\log\omega(n)\over n^2}= \infty\). The Beurling algebra \(A_\omega(\mathbb{T})\) is defined as \[ A_\omega(\mathbb{T})= \Biggl\{f\in C(\mathbb{T}):\| f\|_\omega:= \sum_{n\in\mathbb{Z}} |\widehat f(n)|\omega(n)< \infty\Biggr\}. \] The main result of the paper is to show that if \(\omega\) satisfies some regularity conditions, then any closed ideal \(I\) in \(A_\omega(\mathbb{T})\) is generated by its intersection with the analytic part \[ A^+_\omega(\mathbb{T})= \{f\in A_\omega(\mathbb{T}): \widehat f(n)= 0\text{ for }n< 0\}. \] More precisely, if \(J= I\cap A^+_\omega(\mathbb{T})\), then \(I= \bigvee_{n\leq 0} z^n J\), the closed linear span of the spaces \(z^nJ\). The proof is based on the theory of asymptotically holomorphic functions on the disk developed by \textit{A. A. Borichev} and \textit{A. L. Vol'berg} [Algebra Anal. 1, 146--177 (1989; Zbl 0725.30038)], as well as on recent methods of \textit{A. Borichev} and \textit{H. Hedenmalm} [Acta Math. 174, 1--84 (1995; Zbl 0830.46020)] and Esterle-Vol'berg.
