The paper discusses the influence of a slow parameter sweep together with noise on the bifurcation behaviour of the Hénon map. Some arguments are given to support the observation that an increase of the sweep rate delays the transition from period~1 to period~2, while an increase of the noise intensity reduces the delay. The arguments are based on expansions in the sweep rate together with a center manifold reduction, and on numerical observations.
