In this article, the author constructs a discrete Morse function [\textit{R. Forman}, Adv. Math. 134, No. 1, 90--145 (1998; Zbl 0896.57023)] \(\Delta(F)\) on the barycentric subdivision \(\Delta(L)\) of a simplicial complex \(L\) from a given discrete Morse function \(F\) on \(L\). The constructed function has the same number of critical simplices as the original one. Moreover, every critical \(k\)-simplex of the discrete Morse function \(F\) contains exactly one critical \(k\)-simplex of \(\Delta(F)\). In addition, the author proves that there exists a bijection between the gradient paths of \(\Delta(F)\) and those of \(F\).
