In the paper, a fourth-order differential equation \[ y^{(4)}(x)+q(x)y(x) = \lambda \rho (x) y(x) \] on an interval \(x\in [0,\pi]\) is studied. Here, \[ \rho (x) = \begin{cases}a^4 & 0\leq x < x_1\\-b^4 & x_1 < x \leq \pi\end{cases} \] with \(a,b>0\). Continuity of the function \(y\) and its three first derivatives is prescribed at the point \(x_1\). There are separating boundary conditions at the endpoints of the interval. The main result of the paper is the formula for the asymptotical positions of the eigenvalues. There are several misprints in the paper, e.g. the use of \(w_k\) instead of \(\omega_k\) at several places, there should also be \(A_{3k}'\) instead of \(A_{4k}'\) in (20) and the ``Taylor's formula'' is spelled incorrectly.
