The paper under review concerns the theory of Ricci flow and studies the invariance of curvature nonnegativity conditions under the flow. As main result, it is shown that on the four-dimensional manifolds \(S^4\), \(S^2\times S^2\), \(\mathbb CP^2\), \(\mathbb CP^2 \sharp\overline{\mathbb CP^2}\) there exist metrics of non-negative sectional curvature, which evolve instantaneously under the Ricci flow to metrics of mixed sectional curvature. To prove this statement, the authors apply particular metrics introduced in [\textit{K. Grove} and \textit{W. Ziller}, Ann. Math. (2) 152, No. 1, 331--367 (2000; Zbl 0991.53016)] and exploit specific cohomogeneity one actions by isometries on the manifolds in question.
